Here are two new rock tunes I’ve been listening to in the past couple of weeks. Although aware of both of these bands (albeit by name alone), I approached these songs with little preconceptions and I’m pleased to say both bands are keepin’ the spirit of rock alive.
Here’s the Howling Bells‘ dense, driving track. I like the verses. I just looked at their bio – they’re an Australian band based in London. We’ve heard this story before!

The next song is by the English band Blood Red Shoes. They’re a duo doncha know. This song is pretty vicious and nasty. There’s a sound snippet at the end of the song – it’s of a passenger announcement from the Berlin U-bahn train that operates next to my house. I got quite a shock when I first heard this during work.
